The band has received rave reviews and performed at the 2000trees Festival for the previous two years. One of the festival organisers, Andy Rea, has put this event together with Stefan Edwards of Kiss My Face Entertainment. The gigs will take place on Friday 11 June and Imperial Leisure will be supported by local artists. The aim is to encourage sustainable live music to flourish in the town and it is hoped this will be the first of many similar gigs. It was part-funded by Arts Development at Cheltenham Borough Council and Cheltenham Library (Gloucestershire County Council).

Imperial Leisure have received praise for their energetic live performances including a rare full marks review in leading music magazine Kerrang. Their blend of Ska-Punk-Rock has excited audiences across the UK and they are embarking on a national tour later this year. Andy Rea said: “Imperial Leisure are one of the best live bands around and are very popular among 2000trees Festival fans, but as they’ve played the previous two years for us, we needed to change the line-up and that left a lot of people disappointed. So we wanted to give fans the chance to see this exciting band in Cheltenham and they were really excited about the idea of performing an acoustic set in a library.”

Stefan Edwards said: “Staging a gig in a library is an unusual thing but it should be a great experience for the people lucky enough to get a ticket.”
