Kiss My Face Music are running a competition to raise as much money as possible for Children in Need. The competition is open to all musicians, regardless of genre, age or background! It costs just £10 to enter and there are over £1,500 worth of prizes to be won!

The competition, which is open to musicians and DJs, boasts a great selection of music career boosting prizes including band photoshoots, recording sessions, festival slots, advice and assistance from industry experts and even free musical instruments! The competition runs until midday on Monday 21st May, all proceeds going to Children in Need.

Ned Evett – “The Glass Guitarist” – from Nashville! Ned is a singer/songwriter/fretless guitarist who is best known for his arsenal of glass-necked guitars. Think slide guitar with the slide on the other side. Ned’s more than that though, he writes fantastic songs and has a gorgeous smooth baritone voice. For Ned’s UK tour he will be performing with a full band however, this does not distract from the power of Ned’s show or how cool the guitars really are.

The Good Ship Band is a rock pop four piece from Tonbridge, Kent, UK. Formed in March 2009, the band have sold over 1000 copies of their debut album, released 6 singles, supported Keane, and have received 11 record deal offers to date; testimony to their relentless gigging throughout the South East and two irresistibly melodic albums. Propelled by the songsmithery of frontman Jez Harley and guitarist/signed songwriter Ed Bingham (NorthStar Music), the band’s recent airplay has drawn comparisons with Fleet Floxes, Paolo Nutini and Kings of Leon.

With top bassist James Elliott and session drummer Simon Whiting completing the line-up, the band’s live reputation has resulted in the act being sought out by all corners of the industry. Following a flood of offers, TGSB were approached by video-makers Blindeye Films (Sigur Ros, Bryan Ferry, Eliza Doolittle) and the two parties collaborated to produce a stunning promo for live favourite ‘Hometown’. With such momentum, the band released ‘Boomerang Girl’ followed shortly by the eagerly anticipated second album, ‘The Good Ship Band – Part 2’. Part 3 is already on the way, with more live dates booked and recording dates in the pipeline.

Neil Morris is a solo singer-songwriter from the heart of the Black Country in the Midlands.

Having played in various punk and rock n’ roll bands from the age of 13 he turned his hand to acoustic music in 2003 blending elements of punk, pop, and traditional folk, gluing them together with lightning fast finger-picking and an easy going wit.

His live shows never fail to entertain as he sings about love, loss, joy, creepy old men on busses, and mildly racist sandwich ladies.

Ticket price includes skate hire. Only Mega Roller Disco skates may be used due to venue restrictions. Parents can purchase tickets for family session to accompany children, but this is not compulsory. Any skater aged 11 and under require a parent or guardian on site at all times. Hailing from the flatlands of Lincolnshire Aspen Sails are a must see band for fans of Fleet Foxes, The Shins, Kings of Convenience and Iron and Wine. The duo have transformed the sound into their own, filling it out with folk guitar sounds and narrative lyrics whilst substituting a full band sound for something overly intimate and overwhelming – an insight into two young men’s genius via the medium of beautiful three minute pop songs.

Since the formation of the band Aspen Sails have taken in performances alongside the likes of Slow Club, First Aid Kit, Jay Jay Pistolet, Wild Beasts, The Magic Numbers, Adam Green (The Mouldy Peaches), My First Tooth, Tellison, Stornorway and toured with Californian quartet Chief. Been award BBC Gloucester’s band of 2009, Played numerous festivals, garnered promising reviews from the likes of 6Music, BBC Introducing and The Fly as well as releasing debut single “Human Beings” off Alcopop records in February 2010.

With their sophomore EP set to drop in the spring and a batch of tour dates on the way 2012 looks set to be a year in bloom for this fledgling band.
