Big Mac’s were formed in 1990 as the house band for the legendary Hollywood Club in Newport. The line up is that of tenor sax, trumpet and trombone, bass, drums, guitar, keyboards, two dynamic female vocalists and charismatic frontman Mike ‘Big Mac’ McNamara. Mike is a Soul singer in the purest sense of the word.

To date Big Mac’s have appeared on the bill with a vast number of top names, from Edwin Starr, Jimmy James and The Vagabonds, Van Morrison, The Pasadenas and Jools Holland to Go West, Dodgy and Shed7. Appearances on t/v and radio shows, touring, playing, rehearsing and performing have all served to polish the bands act, repertoire and musicianship without ever diminishing its energy and enthusiasm.

Blues Brothers U.K., featuring the talents of award winning actor Dave Ratty and Iain Barton (Jerry Lee Lewis Story, Seance, Talbot House) as Jake and Elwood Blues, are on a mission to bring the best loved songs from The Blues Brothers’ repertoire to audiences across the country. Supported by the mighty voices of The BeeVees and a fabulous 6 piece blues and soul band, they reignite those old favourites from both Blues Brothers’ films and concerts including of course Shake a Tailfeather, Sweet Home Chicago, Everybody Needs Somebody, Gimme Some Lovin, Peter Gunn and Soul Man. They have also performed at Glastonbudget (Europe’s leading tribute band festival, 2011 and booked for 2012).

Laura Jay who is an accomplished, powerful, female solo singer who is available for birthdays, parties, weddings, anniversaries, corporate and business events.
Her sets include popular songs from the 60s right through to the present day. They combine all the popular classics to get your party started, ranging from modern pop to rock’n’roll. Rock music is her speciality.

Laura and the Boutique is a singer/songwriter from Cheltenham via Dagenham in Essex! With a unique powerful voice and a real talent for writing Laura was signed to JAL (Just another Label) where she has a Publishing deal and writes production music for TV/Film. She is also currently writing and recording her Début album.
Laura is a unique performer who puts on a real show! Something not to be missed.

PETER BUTLER

In a stunning coup, we’ve also managed to bag THE Subtone piano-man to begin proceedings. He’s played everywhere from New York to the Caribbean and tonight he plays for us and you. Again, if you’ve seen this man play before you’ll know exactly what’s in store and why we’re so excited to have him on the bill. This is your excuse to get there early – no excuses.

Last year the band was selected to play various UK festivals, which included maStrawberry Fields’ and the venerated ‘Summer Sundae’. They’ve since received support slots with The Go! Team, as well as being personally asked to be main support for Paul Heaton (Beautiful Southin-stage appearances at ‘/House Martins) on his UK Tour (Spring 2011).

This year has seen them play ‘sold-out’ hometown shows, and appear twice at London’s esteemed ‘Club Fandango’. They’ve also recorded a live performance for the ‘Showcase’ Channel on Sky TV and have more UK festival appearances lined up over the summer.

Postal campaigns

Each year we send out two postal packs to festivals – one in December and one in April. These packs go out to 200 of the 440+ festivals we are in contact with as not all of them accept postal submissions. You can be part of a postal campaign in a number of ways:

• Have a track on the compilation CD. The packs contain a compilation CD showcasing a selection of artists for the festival to consider. The cost of adding your track to the CD is £175. This fee is to cover our costs involved with creating the CD, producing the artwork and distributing it to the festival offices. If you can’t afford this option, you can submit an application for a bursary (see notes below).
• Submit your CD. If you would like us to distribute your existing promotional CD in our packs we charge £195 for this service. We charge more for this service because the weight of the additional CDs significantly raises the price of our postage.
• Submit some artwork. If you would like us to distribute your existing artwork (e.g. band stickers, posters flyers etc) in our packs we charge £95 for this service. We can also organise printing for you if required. Please ask us if you want a print quote.

Email only campaigns

We offer two options for email campaigns.

• Group email to festivals. We send out an email to all 440+ festivals letting them know about a selection of recommended bands, complete with photo, biog and link. We charge £95 for this service.
• Dedicated HTML email to festivals. We can design and send an email about your band only to all 440+ festivals. This can include multiple images, embedded videos, detailed biog and links to all of your websites and social networks. We charge £250 for this service, but can reduce this to £195 if you are able to design your own HTML email.

Email and postal campaigns
If you decide to opt for both an email and postal campaign we can deduct 20% from the overall cost.

Bursaries

It costs $15 (approx £9.50) to apply for a bursary. You can apply for a bursary via music xray. We guarantee to listen to all of the tracks submitted for a bursary. We will pick our favourite submissions to be included on the compilation CD. If you are successful your song will be included on the CD and you will not have to pay the outstanding £165. If you are not successful your submission fee will not be refunded.
